David Clarke is an associate professor at Sheffield Hallam University Department of Media and Communication, and a formerly active ufologist with BUFORA (British UFO Research Association), before engaging in an academic career. He has been author of a lot of articles and a few books about UAPs. Between 2008 and 2013 he was involved as a consultant in the release of United Kingdom Ministry of Defence UFO files. A co-founder of the Contemporary Legend research group in SCII, he was Project Lead for the AHRC-funded National Folklore Survey.
